Heavy Rainfall Warning Across India
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several parts of India over the next five days, from August 30 to September 5. Very heavy rainfall is expected in select regions across Northwest, West, and East & Central India.
Northwest India Rainfall Alert
In Northwest India, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, East & West Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh are under a heavy rainfall alert between August 30 and September 2. Himachal Pradesh is expected to receive very heavy rain on August 30 and 31, while Uttarakhand is likely to experience similar conditions from August 30 to September 1. Jammu & Punjab are under alert for August 30, East Rajasthan for August 31, and Uttar Pradesh for September 1.
West India Rainfall Alert
West India, including Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra, is likely to receive heavy rain until September 5. Saurashtra & Kutch can expect very heavy rain on August 30, September 4, and 5. Ghat areas of Konkan & Madhya Maharashtra are predicted to have very heavy rain on August 30, and Gujarat from August 30 and September 3 to 5.
East & Central India Rainfall Alert
East & Central India, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, and Odisha, are likely to experience heavy rain throughout the week. Western Madhya Pradesh & Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are predicted to receive very heavy rain on August 30. Odisha is under alert for very heavy rain from August 31 to September 3, and Jharkhand for September 2.
