The Midwest is currently grappling with severe weather conditions, including tornado warnings and strong storms that have already resulted in considerable damage. According to NBC News, multiple tornadoes have struck Illinois and Indiana, with northern Illinois at the highest risk. A tornado emergency was declared in Knox, Indiana, underscoring the life-threatening nature of the situation. The National Weather Service has reported eight tornado occurrences between Illinois and Indiana, and two in Texas. Strong winds, heavy rain, and golf ball-sized hail have been reported in the Chicago region, leading to flood warnings along rivers in Illinois and Indiana. Power outages have affected over 12,000 customers in the Midwest and 23,000 in the Great Lakes region.
