Alaska sees winter storms and heat advisory
Alaska experienced a week of stark weather contrasts, with the northern regions under a winter storm warning while the Inside Passage faced a heat advisory. Northern Alaska braced for snow, ice, and hazardous travel conditions as the season’s first winter storm arrived. Simultaneously, the Inside Passage sweltered under a heat advisory as temperatures soared to 80°F (26.7°C). Southwest Alaska dealt with heavy rain and strong winds due to an atmospheric river. Both the storm warning and heat advisory were set to expire on Thursday.
