Massachusetts is preparing for the effects of Hurricane Erin, the fifth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season. Although the storm remains hundreds of miles offshore, it is expected to bring hazardous conditions to the state's coastal areas. Once a Category 4 hurricane, Erin has weakened but will still bring significant risks to Massachusetts.
