Lightning strikes and wildfire risks intensify in California
California is on high alert as it grapples with the dual threat of lightning strikes and heightened wildfire risks. This week alone, the state has been struck by over 74,000 lightning bolts, igniting numerous fires and straining resources. The Gifford Fire, which has consumed 131,614 acres, is now 95% contained, offering a slight reprieve to exhausted firefighters. However, the Garnet Fire continues to burn uncontrolled, posing a significant challenge.
