Record snowfall blankets eastern Australia
Australia has experienced its biggest snowfall in decades, with several towns across the eastern part of the country blanketed in unprecedented levels of snow. A powerful cold front swept through the region over the weekend, bringing record-breaking snowfall to parts of northern New South Wales, where up to 40cm accumulated—levels unseen since the mid-1980s. Neighboring Queensland also saw snow settling for the first time in ten years, according to the national weather bureau.
