Firefighters battle a fire affecting Doerner Fir
Authorities are currently battling a fire affecting the Doerner Fir, a towering 325-foot, 450-year-old coastal Douglas Fir located in Coos County, Oregon. Firefighters are working diligently to contain the blaze, which has reached high into the tree. While flames are no longer visible, significant heat remains in a cavity approximately 280 feet up the tree’s trunk, posing ongoing challenges for the firefighting teams.
