A 59-year-old man from South Carolina tragically lost his life after being caught in a rip current at Sailors Haven in Suffolk County, New York. The incident occurred amidst hazardous surf conditions influenced by Hurricane Erin. The man was rescued from the water and airlifted to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive.
