The Gifford Fire in Southern California has escalated to 'megafire' status, becoming the state's largest wildfire of 2025. Having consumed over 104,000 acres, the blaze is driven by relentless extreme heat and exceptionally dry conditions, posing a significant threat to nearly 3,000 structures. The fire has already resulted in three injuries.
