Lexington sees coldest August in four decades
Lexington experienced a remarkable cold snap this week, with temperatures plummeting to levels not seen in nearly four decades. Wednesday morning saw a chilling 46°F, marking the coldest August reading in almost 40 years. This unprecedented drop broke several records, as Tuesday tied a historic low of 48°F, and Monday reached a cool 53°F. These unseasonably cool temperatures have been described as a “false fall,” giving residents a brief taste of autumn in the middle of summer.
