South-central Pennsylvania is set to experience a week of steamy skies and potentially severe weather. The workweek begins with scattered strong to severe thunderstorms, posing a risk of localized flash flooding due to heavy rainfall. Residents should brace for hot and humid conditions, with the heat index expected to soar between 100 and 104°F.

While the day will see a mix of cloud cover and sunshine, the likelihood of scattered showers and thunderstorms increases after noon. Given the potential for severe weather and flooding, today has been designated an Impact Day. Some storms may bring damaging wind gusts and intense, short-lived downpours.

Frequent lightning is also a significant threat with these stronger storm cells. Afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 80s. The storm activity is expected to diminish by around 8 p.m., but the evening will remain sticky and humid.

Overnight, skies will mostly clear, but warm and muggy conditions persist, with low temperatures settling in the low to mid-70s.

Starting Monday, a heatwave will grip the region. Highs will climb into the low 90s under mostly sunny skies. Impact Days have been issued for both Tuesday and Wednesday as temperatures escalate into the mid-90s. Coupled with high humidity, the heat index will again push into the 100–105° range. The period will generally be dry, although isolated afternoon storms remain a possibility.

For those longing for cooler weather, relief is on the horizon. By the end of the week, temperatures will drop back into the low 80s with lower humidity, just in time for the start of August.
