This weekend brings a rare and stunning black moon, set to occur early Saturday at 2:06 a.m. EDT. Unlike the familiar sight of a full moon or even a crescent moon, this new moon is invisible to the naked eye, as its dark side is oriented towards Earth. This celestial phenomenon, known as a seasonal black moon, graces our skies approximately every 33 months.
