A strong cold front from Canada will bring a much colder air mass to the northern Plains and Midwest, with temperatures 15–25 degrees below normal.
The cold front may bring showers and thunderstorms, with a potential for strong storms in parts of the northern Plains.
Cool temperatures to persist into midweek
Much of the eastern and central United States are currently experiencing cooler-than-normal temperatures, a trend expected to persist into midweek. A significant cold front originating from Canada is driving this change, introducing a much colder air mass into the northern Plains and Midwest regions between Tuesday and Wednesday. High temperatures in these areas are predicted to be 15–25 degrees below the seasonal average.
