Cape Cod cleanup after severe blizzard
Cape Cod is currently engaged in a significant cleanup effort following a severe blizzard that caused widespread disruption. The region experienced varying levels of snowfall, with some areas receiving up to two feet while others, like Chatham, saw only six inches of slushy snow. The most damaging aspect of the storm was the hurricane-force winds, which reached speeds of up to 80 mph. These winds led to extensive damage to trees, utility poles, and even some DPW vehicles. Power outages affected approximately 153,000 customers, although Eversource managed to restore power to the majority by Friday evening.
