PGA Tour moves The Sentry from Maui
The PGA Tour has announced the relocation of The Sentry, its season-opening event, from Kapalua Resort in Maui, Hawaii, in January 2026 due to severe drought conditions. This decision comes as a significant portion of Maui County faces extreme drought, affecting over 90% of the region. The ongoing drought has led to stringent water conservation measures, creating agronomic challenges and logistical constraints that make it impossible to prepare the Plantation and Bay courses to the standards required for a PGA Tour event.
