Snowstorm to impact NYC and surrounding areas
A significant snowstorm is forecasted to impact New York City and the surrounding metro area, including parts of New Jersey and the Hudson Valley, starting late Friday afternoon and continuing into Saturday morning. According to NBC New York, an area of low pressure will bring accumulating snow, with up to 8 inches expected in NYC and locally higher amounts possible in northern New Jersey and the Hudson Valley. The NYC Emergency Management Department has issued a travel advisory due to anticipated hazardous travel conditions during the peak of the snowfall. A winter storm warning is in effect for the entire metro area, lasting from 4 p.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Saturday. This storm follows a period of relatively low snowfall in recent winters, making even moderate accumulations significant.
