The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, may be visible across several northern U.S. states overnight from Sunday, December 7, through Monday, December 8. This stunning celestial display is made possible by a coronal mass ejection from the sun that occurred last week. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has forecasted a G1-rated geomagnetic storm, which could enhance the visibility of auroras in regions across Alaska, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, and Maine.
