Thunderstorms bring wildfire risk to eastern Oregon
Oregon is bracing for a heightened risk of wildfires as thunderstorms are expected to bring frequent lightning and strong winds across the eastern part of the state. The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch, effective from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., highlighting the John Day Valley, Central and Western Blue Mountains, and the Warm Springs Reservation as areas of particular concern.
