AP News reports that hundreds of thousands of residents are without power as the powerful winds moved eastward from the Great Lakes region. The National Weather Service recorded a 66 mph gust at Pittsburgh International Airport and an even stronger 85 mph gust at Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport. These high winds have toppled trees, damaged buildings, and caused other structural failures.
