Two patrollers injured during mitigation work
Two ski patrollers at Mammoth Mountain were injured in an avalanche while conducting mitigation work on Lincoln Mountain early Friday morning. The incident took place around 7:30 a.m., before the resort was open to the public, following a major snowstorm that has dumped over five feet of snow since Christmas Eve. The ski patrollers were promptly rescued and transported to Mammoth Hospital. One patroller sustained serious injuries and is being transferred to another facility for further treatment, while the other is being evaluated for potential broken bones.
