Las Vegas recorded a high of 96°F (36°C), setting a new record for the date, while Phoenix reached 105°F (40°C), the highest March temperature ever recorded at Sky Harbor International Airport. The U.S. Weather Prediction Center anticipates that 383 daily high-temperature records may be broken or tied across the country in the next week.
