Florida agriculture hit hard by historic freeze
Florida's agricultural sector is grappling with the aftermath of a historic freeze that has inflicted over $3 billion in losses. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has released a report detailing the significant damage to essential crops, including sugarcane, citrus, strawberries, sweet corn, greenhouse and nursery plants, and tomatoes. The freeze, which spanned from late January to early February, brought unprecedented low temperatures and sustained freezing conditions to central and southern Florida, severely disrupting the state's crucial winter growing season.
