Alaska Task Force Helps Typhoon Victims Find New Homes

Following the destructive path of Typhoon Halong across western Alaska, a dedicated task force is working tirelessly to relocate victims and rebuild communities. Over 650 individuals were evacuated to Anchorage after the typhoon left many villages in disarray. Anchorage officials have secured more than 1,000 hotel rooms and rental properties to reduce crowding in emergency shelters and provide more comfortable and private accommodations for those displaced. The primary focus is now on transitioning individuals and families from large shelters to these temporary homes, offering a semblance of normalcy amidst the chaos.
