Vail Resorts is grappling with financial difficulties due to historically low snowfall in the Rocky Mountains. The company reported a 12% decrease in skier visits and a 5% drop in revenue for the quarter ending in early March 2026. CEO Rob Katz noted that this winter has been the most challenging in over 30 years, with Colorado and Utah resorts experiencing significantly reduced terrain availability. February temperatures were notably warmer, averaging eight to nine degrees above normal, further limiting ski operations.
