On March 22, 2026, a substantial fire ignited at the Fuyao Glass America plant in Moraine, Ohio, around 8:30 p.m. The fire originated on the roof of a new building within the complex, where new manufacturing lines were being installed. Despite heavy rainfall, strong winds exacerbated the flames, creating significant challenges for the responding fire crews. The firefighters faced additional difficulties due to lightning strikes, which temporarily halted the use of aerial ladders. Thousands of gallons of water were used, with assistance from multiple area fire departments, to combat the blaze, which was primarily fueled by roofing materials. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the fire crews or plant employees.
