Tornadoes cause damage and loss of life
Northwest Indiana was struck by a series of deadly tornadoes on Tuesday night, resulting in significant damage and loss of life. The storm, originating in central Illinois, intensified into a tornadic supercell as it moved into Indiana, impacting Newton and Jasper counties. The National Weather Service confirmed at least four tornadoes, causing widespread destruction in communities like Lake Village and Wheatfield. Over 235 structures were damaged or destroyed, and tragically, two fatalities were reported.
