Upstate NY gets blanketed by heavy snow
Upstate New York is starting the new year under a blanket of heavy lake-effect snow, continuing a trend from late 2025. Syracuse.com reports that northern Onondaga and southern Oswego counties are bracing for over a foot of snow today. Oswego County, especially areas close to Lake Ontario, could see an intense 3 to 5 inches of snow falling per hour, leading to potential accumulations of three feet or more. The Buffalo area is also expecting around a foot of fresh snowfall.
