Relief from the heat dome is expected early next week, but warmer-than-average temperatures will likely continue.
Record-breaking temperatures hit Pacific Northwest, British Columbia
Western Canada experienced an unprecedented heatwave in September, shattering previous temperature records as a significant heat dome settled over the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. The community of Ashcroft, British Columbia, reached a scorching 105°F (40.7°C), marking a new all-time high for September in Canada. The nearby town of Lytton, which previously endured record-breaking heat in June 2021, also experienced temperatures soaring to 39°C and forecasts suggest it may surpass this value.
