A Delta Air Lines flight from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam experienced severe turbulence over Wyoming on July 30th, injuring 18 people. The incident took place during a thunderstorm, which led to an emergency landing in Minneapolis. Reports indicate that the seat belt sign was off, causing passengers to be violently tossed around the cabin for about 2.5 minutes of unexpected, intense turbulence. Two crew members and sixteen passengers were hospitalized with injuries.
