Dry air expands, high pressure maintains conditions
Dry air is spreading its reach across the central and eastern United States, extending even into the Southeast after the recent rainfall brought by Tropical Storm Imelda. A dominant high-pressure system is expected to maintain mostly dry conditions across the Midwest, Northeast, and mid-Atlantic regions into early October. While this weather pattern may be favorable for outdoor activities, it is poised to exacerbate existing drought conditions in these areas.
