Governor Stein allocates funds for disaster recovery
Governor Josh Stein has announced the allocation of over $9 million in grants to 14 nonprofit Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOADs) to bolster housing repair and reconstruction efforts in western North Carolina following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. The funding, approved by the state legislature, is aimed at supporting ongoing recovery initiatives in the regions most severely impacted by the hurricane.
