Low pressure system brings showers and thunderstorms
The Southern Plains and Middle Mississippi Valley are bracing for a spell of unsettled weather as a new low-pressure system develops. Starting Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms will begin to form across the Southern Plains due to a low-pressure center developing along a stalled boundary. As the low tracks northeast towards the Middle Mississippi Valley on Thursday, storm coverage is expected to expand. The increase in moisture along the boundary will support areas of moderate rainfall and occasional thunderstorms. While widespread severe weather is not anticipated, localized heavy downpours could lead to travel delays and affect early morning commutes.
