Record-breaking temperatures expected in Southern California next week
Southern California is bracing for an unprecedented heat wave expected to bring record-breaking temperatures next week. The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat watch, predicting that areas like the San Fernando Valley could see temperatures soaring above 100°F (38°C). This is significantly higher than the typical March temperatures, which usually hover in the 70s°F (20s°C). Weather scientist Daniel Swain described the situation as a 'full-on summer heatwave in March,' with downtown Los Angeles potentially reaching 101°F (38°C) on Tuesday. The heat wave is expected to impact valleys from Tuesday to Friday, while mountain and desert areas will experience peak temperatures from Wednesday to Friday.
