According to the Associated Press, the year 2024 is on track to be the hottest year ever recorded, propelled by human-induced climate change and a strong El Niño pattern. Global temperatures have already surpassed pre-industrial levels by approximately 1.5°C (2.7°F) for several months this year, nearing the critical threshold set by the 2015 Paris Agreement.
