The Pacific states are bracing for continued impacts from atmospheric rivers through late December, fueled by the current La Niña pattern. According to weather forecasts, the Pacific Northwest and California are at moderate risk for heavy rain, high winds, and snow between December 20–26. The risk of additional flooding and landslides is elevated due to saturated soils and rising river levels from previous floods in western Washington and northwestern Oregon.
