The Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States are experiencing unusually warm temperatures for early October. From October 5th to 6th, 2025, temperatures are expected to be 10–20°F above average across significant portions of the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast. This unseasonable warmth follows a weekend of record heat and may lead to new record highs in areas stretching from the middle Mississippi Valley into New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
