The National Weather Service has cautioned residents about strong southwest winds expected to persist through Wednesday. Sustained wind speeds could reach up to 45 mph, with gusts exceeding 70 mph in exposed and mountainous terrains. Some areas in Montana may even experience gusts nearing 85 mph.
