Meteorologist apologizes for inaccurate Eastern Seaboard forecast
A meteorologist has publicly apologized for an inaccurate severe weather forecast concerning the Eastern Seaboard. The National Weather Service (NWS) had issued a level 4 out of 5 severe weather outlook for areas from northeastern South Carolina through central North Carolina, eastern Virginia, and into southern Maryland, following prior tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings in the Midwest and South. Contrary to the forecast, the region primarily experienced rain rather than the anticipated severe storms. Meteorologist Matthew Cappucci explained that although wind dynamics were favorable, surface conditions lacked the necessary warmth and humidity.
