A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Alaska's Aleutian Islands early Tuesday, near the village of Nikolski. According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) and was centered approximately 75.8 miles (122 kilometers) south-southwest of Nikolski. Fortunately, no tsunami warning was issued following the seismic event.
