The Moon will pass close to Saturn at 4° north at 4 P.M. EDT.
The Moon will pass close to Neptune at 3° north by 6 P.M. EDT.
Saturn is visible to the naked eye, while Neptune requires binoculars or a telescope.
Celestial treat: Moon near Saturn, Neptune
Tonight, skywatchers are in for a treat as the Moon makes close approaches to both Saturn and Neptune. At 4 P.M. EDT, the Moon will pass just 4 degrees north of Saturn. Following this, at 6 P.M. EDT, it will glide 3 degrees north of Neptune. Both planets will become visible around 8 P.M. in the southwestern part of the Pisces constellation.
