Tropical Storm Kiko brings surf to Hawaii
Hawaii is bracing for significant surf conditions as Tropical Storm Kiko passes in proximity to the islands. Although Kiko, formerly a hurricane, weakened to a tropical storm with sustained winds of 60 mph as of September 9-10, 2025, its passage north of the state prompts concerns over substantial ocean swells and hazardous marine conditions. A state of emergency has been declared, enabling the mobilization of resources and the National Guard to ensure public safety.
