The National Weather Service confirmed that a supercell storm caused tornadoes in Aroma Park, Illinois, and near Wheatfield, Indiana. The Aroma Park tornado was classified as an EF-3 with winds reaching 115 mph, causing extensive damage and injuring nine people in Kankakee County. Two fatalities were reported in Indiana. The largest hailstone recorded was six inches in diameter, potentially setting an Illinois state record.
