Heightened wildfire risk in Texas and Oklahoma
The National Weather Service has issued red flag warnings for parts of the Texas panhandle and much of Oklahoma due to persistent dry weather conditions, signaling a heightened risk of wildfires. In the Texas panhandle, sustained winds are expected to range from 15 to 25 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 35 mph. Relative humidity levels are forecast to drop as low as 8%, and temperatures are anticipated to be in the lower 80s°F (27°C). Central Oklahoma is facing similar risks, with expected wind gusts and humidity levels falling to around 10%.
