On March 13, 2024, Doug Chmiel, a Huntington Woods Public Works supervisor, tragically lost his life during a severe windstorm. Chmiel was clearing roads to allow emergency vehicles passage when he was struck by a falling tree limb, which led to a fatal brain hemorrhage.
