Minnesota prepares for heavy snow, strong winds
Minnesota is preparing for a significant March blizzard, expected to bring heavy snowfall and challenging conditions throughout the state. Governor Tim Walz has activated the Minnesota National Guard to assist with emergency operations, following an executive order to ensure adequate resources are available. The storm is predicted to deliver over a foot of snow in many areas, with some locations potentially receiving over 18 inches. Snowfall rates could reach 1 to 3 inches per hour, significantly reducing visibility, coupled with wind speeds ranging from 30 to 50 mph, raising the potential for dangerous whiteout conditions. These conditions will make travel extremely hazardous and potentially life-threatening.
