Woman swept into water near Pacifica Pier
On Thursday, a woman was swept into the rough waters south of Pacifica Municipal Pier. King tides combined with 14–25-foot breakers along the Bay Area coast contributed to the dangerous conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued warnings for residents to avoid piers, jetties, and waterside structures through Saturday morning because of hazardous beach conditions and the increased risk of sneaker waves. These waves can surge unexpectedly far up the shore.
