Martinez Lake sets new March heat record
A small community in the Arizona desert, Martinez Lake, has set a new record for the highest March temperature ever recorded in the United States, reaching a scorching 110°F (43.3°C), according to the National Weather Service (NWS). This heatwave has affected the southwestern region, with temperatures soaring 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit above normal for March. Phoenix also experienced its earliest day of triple-digit temperatures, reaching 105°F (40.6°C), surpassing the previous record. Las Vegas recorded 95°F (35°C), breaking its previous record as well.
