The worst of the winter storm is still ahead as snow and ice intensify across the United States. A powerful winter storm that battered much of the country over the weekend is expected to intensify on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Parts of the Northeast could see one to two feet of additional snow, creating blizzard-like conditions and making travel nearly impossible. States farther south are bracing for potentially catastrophic ice storms, which could lead to widespread power outages and dangerous conditions.
