Super Typhoon Ragasa struck Hong Kong early Wednesday, bringing powerful winds and massive waves after causing significant damage and loss of life in Taiwan and the Philippines. The storm, one of the strongest in recent years, lashed Hong Kong's waterfront with waves exceeding the height of streetlights, causing widespread disruption. In Taiwan, severe flooding resulted in 14 fatalities in a single township. The Philippines reported 10 deaths due to the typhoon's impact.
