AccuWeather forecasts another round of severe storms in the central U.S., potentially the largest outbreak this year.
Tornadoes cause fatalities and widespread destruction
A series of devastating tornadoes has swept through the Plains and Midwest, resulting in at least eight fatalities and widespread destruction. The severe weather system spanned over 1,500 miles, impacting states from Texas to Michigan and affecting more than 60 million people. Michigan experienced significant damage, particularly in Union City, where an EF-3 tornado with winds of at least 160 miles per hour caused extensive destruction. Oklahoma also reported four deaths due to the tornadoes.
